Bridal Trends Straight from NYBFW: What’s Hot for 2026

Let me start by saying: the FOMO was real. As much as I wanted to be taking in all the bridal trends front row at New York Bridal Fashion Week, sipping espresso and soaking in all the magic in person, I was styling brides and being a mom (as always, juggling both with a steamer in one hand and a snack pouch in the other). So instead, I scoured the internet, stalked every runway recap, and watched all the behind-the-scenes stories like the fashion sleuth I am.

And wow—Spring 2026 brought the drama, the romance, and a whole lot of lace. Here are the Top 5 Bridal Trends that stole the show (and my heart… well, most of them).

1. Bubble Skirts Are Back, Baby

Unexpected but totally fun, the bubble hem made a bold return this season. These voluminous skirts gave gowns a playful, fashion-forward edge—perfect for the bride who wants to make a statement (and maybe have a little swish moment on the dance floor). Think: 2026 meets Carrie Bradshaw in Vivian Westwood wedding gown vibes.

2. Lace, But Make It Fresh

Lace is forever a bridal trend staple—but this season’s take felt modern and refined. We’re talking graphic patterns, bold embroidery, and even sheer layering that felt sexy and sweet. From boho to baroque, lace got a serious glow-up.

3. The Basque Waist Lives On

This trend continues to reign, and I am not mad about it. To all my brides who I assured this bridal trend was here to stay – here you go, girl! The elongated corseted waist adds structure and elegance to a gown, while also creating a gorgeous hourglass silhouette. It’s romantic, regal, and flattering on so many body types—an absolute yes from me.

4. High Drama

FINALLY – Designers went ALL-IN on dramatic elements this season—long cathedral trains, puffed sleeves, oversized bows, draped skirts and unexpected combos. If you want a “main character moment” on your big day, this is your year. Drama doesn’t mean over-the-top; it just means all eyes on you (as it should be) but I’ve never shied away from going a little overboard.

5. Peplums… Still Not My Thing

Yes, the peplum made a big appearance on the runway. And listen—I love a bold fashion risk, but this is one I just can’t get behind (at least for a wedding gown). It can chop the silhouette and feel a little too editorial for the average aisle. But hey, if you love it, rock it. Just know your stylist may politely steer you toward a sleeker option.

Favorite Collection: Reem Acra’s Rose Collection

If I could wear one collection every day (okay, fine, in my dreams), it would be Reem Acra’s Rose Collection. It was the perfect mix of whimsy and timelessness—think soft florals, sheer overlays, and elegant structure all rolled into one. It felt ethereal and dreamy without trying too hard. Pure chef’s kiss.

Final Thoughts
Brides of 2026—you’re in for a serious style moment. One of the things I love about this season’s collections is how designers aren’t limiting themselves to just one trend per gown. Think fresh, modern lace paired with a flattering Basque waist, or a dramatic bubble skirt that brings in bold volume & drama! So, if you’re crushing over more than one trend, the good news is—you might not have to choose!
