Using what I’m learning to guide my Brides
Hi loves — it’s Alexandra, and in just a few days, I’ll be entering a whole new era… the big 4-0!
And while I’m entering this milestone feeling grounded, grateful, and honestly more “me” than ever — let’s be real… I didn’t get here on autopilot. There were ups, there were valleys, there were moments I held it together beautifully and moments I needed support to feel like myself again.
Mental health has been a huge part of my journey, and one day I’ll share more of that story — because it deserves its own space. But here’s what I know now, loud and clear:
Taking care of your mind isn’t optional — it’s survival, strength, and self-respect.
And as I guide brides through one of the most beautiful (and sometimes overwhelming) seasons of their lives, I bring that perspective with me. Because bridal styling isn’t just fashion — it’s emotional support, grounding energy, and helping women feel like their strongest selves.
Lesson 2.5: Move Your Body, Save Your Mind
One of the greatest gifts of my late 30s?
Learning that movement isn’t just for your body —
it’s medicine for your mind.
I’ve maintained a relationship with one of the most impactful coaches in my life — my beloved SoulCycle instructor turned friend and now founder of Build It Athletics, Brent Locey. Training with him has helped me step into 40 with strength, stability, and clarity — mentally first, physically second.
Brent’s philosophy has shaped how I approach wellness, and I want to share his voice directly, because what he teaches is exactly the kind of empowerment I want for my brides:
**”I started Build It Athletics in 2015 as a way to help my loyal SoulCycle riders cross-train. Over the past 10 years it has grown into so much more! I truly believe strength training is essential in the name of longevity. Yes, I love helping people lose fat, gain muscle, look great in swimsuits on vacations. But the most important reason for creating a strength training regimen is to be a highly functioning human for as long as possible, doing all the things you love into your 80s, 90s and beyond.
After training people for a few years, my clients began asking for nutrition guidance. This led me to becoming a Certified Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition. My philosophy is ‘flexible dieting’ and striving for balance — helping clients create sustainable nutrition plans that incorporate the foods they love, while making the best choice possible in any situation.
What’s especially relevant for the A.C.E Styling community is my experience training dozens of brides to feel supremely confident on their wedding day (and yes, bachelorette parties!). I have a classic ‘Wedding Prep’ program that has proven results, but I always tailor training and nutrition to each specific bride so it works for HER life and her body. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see brides look beautiful, strong, and happy on one of the most important days of their lives.”*
— Brent Locey, Founder, Build It Athletics
Brent doesn’t train for aesthetics — he trains for longevity, confidence, and mental resilience. That is the energy I’m taking into 40, and the energy I want my brides to feel as they walk into their wedding day.
For Brides
Move for your mind.
Move for your confidence.
Move so you feel strong walking into your marriage, not just your dress.
This chapter isn’t about shrinking — it’s about strengthening.
A Toast to You, Bride-to-Be
As I enter 40, I’m bringing:
✨ stronger mental health
✨ movement as medicine
✨ emotional resilience
✨ grace + boundaries
✨ a gentler relationship with myself
✨ and yes — forever a touch of glam
If you’re planning your wedding right now, I hope you give yourself that same grace. Prioritize your peace. Fuel your heart and mind. And remember, support — whether it’s your stylist, your trainer, your therapist, your mom, or your maid of honor — is strength.
Cheers to the journey.
Cheers to your becoming.
And cheers to this new decade — strong, soft, balanced, and beautifully aligned. 🤍✨
